Full-stack engineer Eugene, Oregon takes consulting work

Jackson Feist

I build web apps, mobile apps, and video games. So far that adds up to three commercial game launches, a title live on Steam, and more than 5,000 app downloads. Right now I engineer web products at Cemental Software, and I still run Inorganic Games, the studio I founded in 2023. I take a few consulting projects a year, and the first conversation costs nothing.

Inorganic Games

I founded Inorganic Games in 2023 and I still run it. Three commercial releases, a game live on Steam, and a studio that now builds playable ads for mobile user-acquisition teams: real gameplay on every ad network, not video pretending to be gameplay.

The part I'm proudest of: I built and mentored two full 12-week internship cohorts, teams of up to nine, and carried every one of them through a complete release cycle.

Secure Fields for Jira, field-level security for regulated teams Launching soon

Jira app / Atlassian Forge

Secure Fields for Jira

Healthcare, legal, and finance teams keep sensitive values in Jira fields that were never built to protect them. Secure Fields keeps those values out of Jira's data layer entirely: they live in Forge storage on Atlassian's platform and render only for the groups and project roles you allow. Everywhere else (REST, JQL, CSV export) sees a marker token instead of the value, and every read and write is checked server-side, deny by default.

I designed and built it solo: the app, the threat model, the write-vector test suites, and the Marketplace listing.

Boon, artist opportunities and open calls platform Live

Oregon Software Consulting / web platform

Boon.art

Artists spend hours every week hunting for grants, residencies, and open calls. Boon does the hunting for them. I architected and built it at Oregon Software Consulting for a nonprofit client: Next.js, TypeScript, and SQL, with a scraping pipeline that gathers new opportunities automatically, plus filtering and calendar sync so deadlines stop sneaking past people.

About

I have a business degree and I write code for a living, which means I ask "who is this for, and why would they pay" before I ask "React or Vue." The degree is from the University of Oregon: entrepreneurship and marketing, with a computer information technology minor. The code came from shipping things: a game studio, client platforms, healthcare software, and a winter working in Spanish at a startup in Madrid.

I've led teams of ten, and I've mentored two cohorts of interns through complete release cycles. I live in Eugene, Oregon. I work with clients from anywhere.
